Current Series
Paul wrote two letters to a church that was learning what it costs to follow Jesus in a city that didn't want them to. They were young believers in Thessalonica, a Roman crossroads town full of rival saviors and imperial promises, and they were already burying their friends, already facing heat from neighbors, already wondering if they'd gotten the whole thing wrong. What Paul writes back is not theory. It's a pastor telling a church how to grieve without losing hope, how to work without burning out, how to recognize deception before it takes root, and how to wait for a King who is actually coming back.
As we're walking through 1 & 2 Thessalonians, and these letters will do something to you if you let them. They'll teach you how to stand when everything shakes and how to spot the Christ-substitutes that promise safety but deliver nothing. This is a series about becoming the kind of people who can hold their post in the dark, not because they've figured out when morning comes, but because they know whose light they're carrying.
